Glenmary Home Missioners

Glenmary's work is in depressed rural areas of the United States, primarily in the Appalachian Mountains. This is where they distribute food, clothing, and books to those in need and assist in providing medical care, job training and tutoring.

Camp Friendship
-
Camp Friendship is a two-week summer camp hosted in Mississippi for children from disadvantaged and low-income homes. For two weeks, children participate in camp activities that help develop teamwork skills, foster new relationships and promote a sense of self-worth that grows from their personal accomplishments. Sisters of Theta Phi Alpha assist Camp Friendship with financial donations, supplies and as volunteers at the camp.

The House That Theta Phi Alpha Built

The House That Theta Phi Alpha Built is Theta Phi Alpha's newest philanthropic cause, established in 1993. The common goal through The House is to improve the plight of the homeless in any way. This goal permits all Theta Phi Alphas to help those in need in their own community, while remaining united in our aim and purpose.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals
-
Their national philanthropy is Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The money raised and donated by our collegiate chapters is used locally to support Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, one of the 170 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide. Every year, Phi Mu hosts Cleveland State's Dance Marathon. In 2017 they raised over $14,000!

Speech and Hearing
-
Delta Zeta members volunteer many hours for speech and hearing organizations in their communities, such as tutoring children with hearing challenges or spearheading fundraising initiatives. Donations collected assist with speech programs and provide equipment and devices to those with hearing challenges. Funds also support programs aimed at hearing loss prevention. In addition, Delta Zeta has national partnerships focused on speech and hearing-related causes with Starkey Hearing Foundation and Gallaudet University. They are also partnered with The Painted Turtle Camp to give kids with serious illnesses a chance to enjoy summer camp, free of any cost to their family.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
